Zero Mass designed SOURCE: a self-sufficient solar powered water
condenser.
Zero Mass Water is dedicated to transforming the human relationship to water by making it an unlimited resource. Their proprietary SOURCE HydropanelTM technology pulls water from thin air. We partnered with them to launch their digital refresh and a home automation app for their SOURCE HydropanelTM.
The Challenge
Zero Mass Water was looking for a partner to help them design and develop
their online home. Zero Mass Water’s target audience includes environmental
activists, developers, and concerned heads of households. Their state-of-the-
art technology requires consumer education, so one particular goal was to
explain the value and science behind SOURCE to both technical and non-
technical users. Zero Mass Water was looking for a comprehensive solution
that would:
• Run seamlessly on all modern browsers and mobile devices
• Provide an intuitive user experience for customers to learn about Zero
Mass Water and engage in their growing global community
• Provide an easy avenue by which potential customers can spec out a
SOURCE HydropanelTM and place a deposit on the purchase
• Provide a WYSIWYG content management system for website
administrators and content managers to easily update and maintain the
website
OUR APPROACH
This project consisted of a website refresh with additional e-commerce
functionality. Cospoke utilized an agile approach to align the web and app engagements with ZMW’s larger business and marketing initiatives.
• We conducted in-depth UX workshops with members of the ZMW
marketing and management teams, as well as their 3rd party branding
team, to learn about specific challenges with their existing messaging and
website
• Our UX team laid out the information architecture for the new site with a
more intuitive sitemap. We created detailed wireframes for each template
specifically designed to inform potential customers about the benefits of
SOURCE and get them to convert. Wireframes were specifically designed
to emphasize and highlight ZMW’s recently revamped brand messaging
• Our design team evaluated ZMW’s existing brand guidelines and provided updated fonts and an augmented color palette for web use.
• Our graphic design team created a custom icon set for the website. ZMW
used these for external marketing materials as well.
• Our 3D modeling/animation team created multiple renders of the SOURCE.

THE RESULTS
ZMW’s current website is an engaging sales-and-awareness-building tool. The previous website was built in-house and wasn’t achieving sales or awareness goals and didn’t convey the advanced tech image that ZMW wanted to present. With their new website, visitors have access to all the information they
need in a visual storytelling approach, and ZMW’s e-commerce website has
facilitated more conversions.
